Entry Manager

Entry Manager is an optional add-on to the PatronBase system. Entry Manager requires the purchase of a licence, so speak to your PatronBase sales agent to find out more.

Entry Manager is a tool for assisting venue staff in controlling access to a performance. While many smaller venues find it is sufficient to tear the stub off a ticket, other organisations have discovered the added value of capturing patron data at the entrances.

  • Electronic ticket scanning is recommended when using print-at-home tickets, to ensure tickets used at the venue entrance are unique
  • Fraudulent/counterfeit tickets can be identified because they will not be recognised by the system
  • For large events, the flow of patrons into the venue can be improved by having ushers move along the queue and scan people in before doors open
  • Obtain real-time venue occupancy statistics
  • Provides an opportunity for staff to follow-up patrons who bought tickets but failed to show

Entry Manager comes in three flavours:

  • A Windows program. This is well suited for a permanent installation at an entrance, such as a kiosk staffed by an usher with a barcode scanner. The scanner, Windows computer, and monitor could even be integrated into a self-scanner at a turnstile, similar to the self-scanners used at airport gates.
  • An Android app. This makes Entry Manager highly portable, suitable for any usher to carry with them to query tickets and help patrons with ticketing enquiries. When entrances are especially busy, an extra couple of ushers checking patrons in using Entry Manager on their phones can make a big difference, moving people quickly through and to their seat.
  • An online app. This is well suited for a permanent installation at an entrance, such as a kiosk staffed by an usher with a barcode scanner. The scanner, Windows computer, and monitor could even be integrated into a self-scanner at a turnstile, similar to the self-scanners used at airport gates.
